This page summarizes the different forms of incentives and benefits received by communities and farmers in the Farmers4Forest program, both monetary and non-monetary, related to agroforestry practices, forest protection, and partnerships with multiple stakeholders.

Incentive & Benefit Components

Agroforestry

Capacity building and agroforestry training activities for communities/farmers engaged in the program. This includes technical guidance, mixed-crop plot design, and production management. Below, links to agroforestry modules and activity documentation with relevant captions can be provided.

HCS–HCV Technical Support

Provision of technical support on High Carbon Stock (HCS) and High Conservation Value (HCV) to ensure that land and forest management activities align with the principles of protecting high conservation value areas.

Customary Forest & Village Regulation Support

Facilitation of customary forest recognition processes, drafting of village regulations (Perdes), and other local governance instruments that strengthen community rights over managed areas and forest resources.

Monetary Incentives

Financial incentives are provided to beneficiaries based on specific achievements (such as maintained forest cover, successful agroforestry implementation, or other indicators). Example reporting format: Year X – IDR ... ; Year XX – IDR ... with the number of beneficiaries filled in according to the latest data.

GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) Support

Support for implementing Good Agricultural Practices to improve quality, productivity, and sustainability of farming, including balanced fertilization, soil and water conservation, and integrated pest management.

Farmer & Land Mapping

Mapping activities of farmers and their land involved in the program, including location, size, and management status. Information such as the number of farmers mapped and total area covered can be presented as regular statistics.

Collaboration with Private Sector

Development of partnership schemes with companies and other private actors to support sustainable value chains, market access, and additional incentive schemes for farmers and forest communities.
