Pemerintah Daerah Sekadau

Sekadau Regency is a community-based forest landscape area in West Kalimantan where local villages actively participate in forest protection (Mondi, Tapang Perodah dan Setawar), conservation initiatives, and sustainable natural resource management.

Sekadau Regency is one of the regions in West Kalimantan that still maintains important forest ecosystems and local community territories that contribute significantly to environmental conservation efforts. The region is home to communities that continue to preserve local wisdom, traditional knowledge, and sustainable practices in managing natural resources and protecting forest landscapes.

Through collaboration with the Farmers For Forest Protection Foundation (4F), several assisted villages in Sekadau Regency, including Mondi Village, Tapang Perodah Village, and Setawar Village, have strengthened their collective commitment to protecting forests and promoting sustainable environmental management. These villages play an active role in community-based conservation initiatives aimed at maintaining ecological balance, protecting biodiversity, and supporting sustainable livelihoods for local communities.

The partnership focuses on strengthening community participation in forest governance, environmental education, conservation activities, and capacity building related to sustainable natural resource management. Various collaborative programs are implemented to encourage participatory approaches in protecting forests while integrating local values and community knowledge into conservation practices.

By promoting collaboration between communities, local institutions, and conservation partners, Sekadau Regency continues to demonstrate the importance of community-led forest protection efforts. These initiatives contribute to the long-term sustainability of forest ecosystems while supporting the social and economic resilience of local communities.
